The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a state sponsored persecution and murder of over six million Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Poles, and more by the Nazi Regime. "Holocaust" is a Greek word meaning "Sacrifice by Fire". The Nazis came to power in Germany in January of 1933. They believed that the Germans were racially superior and that Jews deemed inferior were an alien threat to the German racial community.
