Mengele's Experiments
High Altitude experiments
To investigate the limits of human endurance and existence at extremely high altitudes. The victims were placed in the low-pressure chamber and thereafter the stimulated altitude therein was raised.
Incendiary Bomb Experiments
They tested the effect of various pharmaceutical preparations on phosphorous burns. These burns were inflicted on the victims with phosphorous matter taken from incendiary bombs.
Freezing experiments
Mengele also had a freezing experiment to investigate the most effective means of treating people who had been severely chilled or frozen. The individuals were forced to stay in a tank of ice for up to 3 hours. after they were chilled, rewarming was attempted by various means.
There were also other experiments such as the Mustard Gas Experiments, Sulfate Experiments, Spotted Fever Experiements, and even Experiments with dangerous poisons. |
Sea water experiments
There were also studies of various methods of making sea water drinkable. Deprivation of all food and given only chemically processed sea water.
Malaria experiments
Victims were infected by mosquitoes or by injections of extracts of the mucous glands of the mosquitoes and then after contracting malaria, the victims were treated with various drugs.
